YouPlay - YOUth PLAYful engagement

The YouPlay project aims to strengthen the capacity of youth NGOs to guide and support young people in developing competencies, skills, and knowledge that foster their sense of initiative and active citizenship.

The project is implemented by seven partners from six different countries:

  • TDM 2000 International (Coordinator, Italy)
  • NGO IUVENTA (Serbia)
  • Global Citizens Academy (Lithuania)
  • Dragon Legion (Germany)
  • TDM 2000 Malta (Malta)
  • Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain)
  • TDM 2000 (Italy)

Objectives:

  • To support young people’s development by enhancing their citizenship skills and encouraging democratic participation.
  • To provide new tools for youth workers, youth organizations, and institutions on how to engage young generations, recognize their contributions, and catalyze social change.
  • To promote and foster discussions on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the EU and develop concrete proposals for their implementation.
  • To strengthen cooperation within the network, supporting the creation of youth policies.

Expected Results:

  • An educational game on active participation and SDGs, followed by testing both within and outside the project consortium.
  • A platform featuring a digital extension of the game and a wide range of resources for youth and youth workers on active participation.
  • A Policy Recommendation and Adaptation Guide to drive transformation in youth engagement promotion.

Additional Outcomes:

  • Research on youth participation in the involved countries and among TDM International’s members (in Europe and beyond).
  • International training for 16 youth workers to develop the educational game.
  • International seminar for 21 youth workers to test and learn how to use the developed methodology.
  • Dissemination conferences in all seven partner countries, engaging at least 200 people, along with other planned outreach events.

The project began in April 2022 and will run for 24 months.
